Thomas J. Urbelis
Thomas J. Urbelis graduated from Union College (B.S.E.E.), the University of Rochester (M.B.A.) and Boston College Law School, magna cum laude, where he was an editor of the Boston College Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. Mr. Urbelis’ practice concentrates in civil litigation, appellate advocacy, municipal law, land use, and civil rights defense. He is currently Town Counsel for the Town of Andover and the Town of North Andover and is a past President of the Massachusetts City Solicitors and Town Counsel Association. Mr. Urbelis currently serves as the coordinator of the Association’s Amicus Curiae Brief Committee, which submits briefs to appellate courts in cases of interest to municipalities. John W. Fieldsteel
John W. Fieldsteel graduated from Dartmouth College cum laude and with Distinction in his major of Government. He is a graduate of the Boston University School of Law, where he was the recipient of an American Jurisprudence Award. Mr. Fieldsteel has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America and as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer for his work in the field of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). He presently devotes all of his time to his ADR practice and is a member of the National Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators of the American Arbitration Association, where he has chaired and participated in numerous educational and professional programs and has served on the Construction Advisory Board. He has also been appointed by the Judges of the Superior Courts in Suffolk, Middlesex, Norfolk, Bristol and Worcester Counties, to sit as a Master, Mediator, Auditor and/or Arbitrator. Mr. Fieldsteel's law practice was in the area of civil litigation with an emphasis on design/construction, environmental, employment, education, municipal and contract law. He has authored law review and other articles and has presented numerous lectures and seminars on ADR and in areas of law involved in his practice. Thomas G. Fiore
Of Counsel Thomas G. Fiore is Of Counsel to the Firm. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University and Northeastern University School of Law. Formerly an attorney in the Hazardous Waste Enforcement Division of EPA’s Office of Enforcement and Compliance Monitoring in Washington, D.C., Mr. Fiore has been in private practice since 1988. Mr. Fiore’s practice concentrates on matters involving hazardous materials and oil in the environment. His clients include national and international companies with operations in New England, as well as insurers, small businesses, individuals and municipalities. He advises clients involved in the sale or development of environmentally-impacted properties (brownfields), retains and oversees environmental consultants, leads negotiations, and serves as spokesman to media and public officials on behalf of clients performing site investigations and remedial actions under the National Contingency Plan and the Massachusetts Contingency Plan. Mr. Fiore also represents parties in administrative proceedings and litigation in state and federal courts involving environmental compliance, claims for cost recovery, personal injury and property damage, and in multi-party negotiations to resolve potential liability at Superfund sites throughout New England. Carol Hajjar McGravey
Of Counsel Carol Hajjar McGravey is Of Counsel to the Firm. She graduated from Merrimack College, cum laude, and received her law degree from Boston University School of Law. Ms. McGravey is the former City Attorney for the City of Lawrence and has served as Special Counsel to the Lawrence Department of Planning and Community Development, Lawrence Economic Development and Industrial Corporation, and the City of Somerville. Her practice concentrates in municipal law, real estate, zoning and land use. Ms. McGravey serves on the Executive Committee of the Massachusetts City Solicitors and Town Counsel Association, and has been a frequent lecturer at educational programs and a contributor to legal publications on municipal law issues.
